iCare Box similarities

There is a company on AliExpress (http://rockbrook.en.alibaba.com) who seem to make the iCare menstrual cup.  There are a couple of cup brands whose boxes are very similar in design, and whose cups are the same style.  The reason I want to bring this to your attention is because if the other brands of cup are actually the same as the iCare, but named something else.  You should be aware that some of the rebranded cups are selling for a lot more than the iCare cup.  Also it’s interesting news 🙂

The Luno Box has the same cup-flower design on the box (although due to the difference in the pouch, it’s unclear if Luno have bought iCare cups, or if iCare have copied the Luno)

The Improving Birth cup appears to have the same flower designs on the side of the box and paragraph spacing for the writing, and even the same wrinkles on the pouch (eg they photoshopped logo on)

Also……  there are other Aliexpress stores, like “Easy Joy Time” (http://www.aliexpress.com/store/1166401) and “Care for Women” (http://www.aliexpress.com/store/1920862), who don’t seem to be Rockbrook, but are selling the same design cups as the “Anytime” or “iCare”, but calling it the “care” cup, using the same font as iCare, and what appears to be the same writing on the side of the box, and even the same box design – just with the i  removed.  I suspect these businesses are buying the iCare/Anytime cups and rebranding them as “Care” and “Femcup”?

(Seems to be the same as the “icare”, so since they don’t provide details on their site, I’ll list the details for “iCare”)

Country of origin: Czech Republic (made in China)
Composition: Silicone
Sizes:  “1” (small), “2” (large)
Dimensions: Size 1 = 40mm diameter, 78mm long including stem, 58mm without stem.  Size 2 = 45mm diameter,  85mm long with stem, 60mm long without stem. (iCare measurements)

Unique Design?: No (There are other cups with similar designs available)
Other Details: Available in pink and purple.  The cup itself appears to be the same design as the “iCare/Aneer etc. cups.  Box design is exactly the same as “iCare” for the pink Luno version (comparison picture below) and very similar for the purple version.  Whether this is a rebranding of the iCare, or the iCare is a copy of the Luno – I do not know.

Similar or Rebranded Cups

This is a list of cup brands that have the same specific features and appear to be almost identical (it would be difficult to tell them apart if they were side by side). Because there are so many of these new cups available now, I have stopped listing these cups on separate pages and are listing them all here instead.

This isn’t a listing of all the rebranded/similar/non-unique cups, just the main ones.  If you want a listing of all the known cup brands (both Unique and non-unique) by stem type – look at the MASTER LIST here

This is not an accusation that any of these brands are “Copies” or “Rebrandings” – it is merely a comparison to highlight cups which appear to be the same shape and/or design – for research purposes.  I would however like to make consumers aware of the possibility that many of these brands could be a “rebranding” – where cups can be purchased for as little as 45c each, and then resold as the new brand name for anything up to $20-$30.  Click here to see my article on “rebranding”

Measurements (Small/Large) for the brands are also given when known, for easier comparison.  The slight (eg 1mm) difference between some brands that otherwise seem identical may be due to measuring errors or rounding up/down (eg a 41.5mm measurement may be rounded up or down by the brand/manufacturer), or may show the cup is actually a different size to another – I don’t know.

Cups that are “collapsible” (being able to fold up into a compact form for storage).  The cup pictured is the original “Lily Compact” design, which appears to have been used as inspiration for the other brands.

Long thin Stems
There are 3 main designs of long thin stems.  “Natu” Style with bumps on the stem for grip, “Si-Bell” style with grip lines and the “Sckoon” style with flower design on the base.

Narrow flat tab stems
These cups have a flat tab stem that is narrow.  They come in 4 main styles.

Usual measurements for long tall styles:
Small =40mm diameter, 75mm total length, (25mm stem).  12ml capacity to airholes, 28mls to rim.
Large =45mm diameter, 85mm total length, (25mm stem). 15ml capacity to airholes, 30mls to rim.

Long tall shape – “Shiny”
Cups with a tab stem that features 3 grip lines and have very “shiny” looking silicone.  Can be clear or opaque.   Often with a slightly bent stem:tab-shiny

 Long tall shape – “Frosted”
Cups with a tab stem with 3 grip lines, usually 3 colours (clear, pink and a “purple” that is pretty much pink) and overall look very similar to each other. Have a more “frosted” or “Matt” appearance, sometimes with a bent stem:tab-frosted

 Shorter stem with closer grip lines 
These are usually frosted, but have a slightly different shaped shorter stem with grip lines closer together.

Cups that feature short rounded thin stems, with rings around the base of the cup and rings around the “ridge” area.  Some brands have a smooth stem (the first of this design had the smooth stem), some have the newer grip ring stem.

Usual measurements:
Small: 42mm diameter, 52mm long without stem (62mm including stem).  20mls capacity.
Large: 45mm diameter, 55mm long without stem (65mm including stem). 25mls capacity.

The “Bassrose” design valve stem cups have a hollow stem that opens at the end, allowing the cup to be emptied while still in the vagina.  They use a ball inside to block the opening.  I refer to any other cups that have this same shape as a bassrose rebranding.
