About
A menstrual cup is form of reusable menstrual protection. It is inserted into the vagina to collect menstrual fluids. Once in place it forms a seal, preventing blood flowing out of the vagina by collecting it in its “cup” shaped reservoir. Unlike a tampon which absorbs the blood along with the vagina’s natural secretions, a menstrual cup simply holds the fluids until you remove it – so they do not dry out the vagina and do not hold the TSS risk that tampons do.
They hold around 20-30ml, which is for most women will cope with a full day without emptying, and at most perhaps you would need to empty it a few times a day for a very heavy flow. A menstrual cup will last (with proper care) for around 10 years, perhaps longer, so while the initial outlay is high, it pays for itself with savings pretty quick.

I think it is 15.90 USD because if it was in Chilean Peso it would be way too small of a price. Also, on their Facebook page, it says they were founded in 2010. The stem is a flat tab, like the Lunette’s.

The “been around” refers to how long the cups have been on the market… Their facebook page started in March 2011
But thanks, I’ve made the changes to the stem and price

Hello, I’m from Chile and I can tell you that the cup costs actually USD$30 if we made the conversion.
One of the problems of MiaLuna is that it is not being sold at drugstores, you can find them only in certain stores (there are only 8 distributors). You have to contact them directly and ask them to send them to you or to meet somewhere to make the transaction.
This blog is really helpful, thanks a lot!

Anyone else notice that in the pics of the clear ones, the Small and Large look EXACTLY like those Chinese Lunette/Naturalmamma hybrids in shape…and the Large is identical to the Naturalmamma (even the green one; Naturalmammas also come in green but no one seems to buy them). But in that case, the dimensions are off, and none should be longer than 70mm including stem. (77 including stem would be great! I actually did visit Chile as part of my job last year but never ran across these in any of the drugstores. I would’ve picked one up if I had)
