Fleurity

fleurity-cups2

http://fleurity.com.br | http://fleurity.com

Country of origin: Brazil/USA
Composition:Hypoallergenic Silicone” (From Dow Corning, but doesn’t mention medical grade)
Sizes:  Small & Large
Dimensions:  Small = 40mm diameter. Large = 46mm diameter
Capacity: Small = 25ml.  Large = 28ml.
Stem: Long Flat Tab with hole
Measuring Lines: Unknown
Cost (RRP): R 97.90 (for 2) [Currency Converter]
Been around since: 2015 (The Brazillian FB page started 25th October 2015.  The .com website was registered July 2015)
Unique design?:Sort of (There are other cups with similar design available, although this design is different to the others)
Other Details:  The hole in the stem could perhaps be to thread a string through, for those who have a high cervix?   Some cups appear to be pale, some are vibrant.  It appears you get 1 pink and 1 purple in each pack.

These screenshots from Youtube Videos uploaded in November and December 2015 shows the cups as pale and as vibrant/dark colours.   The more recent video shows the darker colours, so they might have changed the silicone formulation between when they made the cups shown in the centre video (filmed sometime around Christmas, given the tree), and when they filmed the video that shows the cup mold?  Unfortunately I can’t translate what is being said in the videos, so the change in colour might be referenced in there.  The change in colour might be why they filmed that video.

fleurity-dark fleurity-light fleurity-light2

The darker cup colour video also shows the mold and silicone they use!

fleurity-mold

Older photos show older designs of the tab stem without hole, and a different shape stem.

fleurity3 fleurity-cupsdifferent

The US version of the website has (as of Jan 2016) a message saying they are closed and will reopen with new marketing…..

Menstro Cup

menstro_cup

http://www.menstrocup.com

Country:  USA (Manufactured in China)
Composition: Silicone
Sizes: Small & Large
Dimensions: Small = 43mm diameter, 48mm without stem, 64mm long including stem.   Large = 46mm diameter, 52mm without stem, 70mm including stem.
Capacity:
Stem: Short thin stem
Measuring Lines:  Yes
Cost (RRP): USD $29.99
Been around since: 2015
Unique design?: No (There are other cups with similar design available)
Other Details:  This cup looks very similar in shape to the Blossom/Dutchess/Charlene etc. cups, however it does have a few differences that mean it must be a cup that has been manufactured for this brand, and NOT a rebranding.  It has the brand name on the cup itself, and a few slightly different design elements (as well as slightly different measurements).

Here is a photo of the Blossom cup, a cup I bought from AliExpress and the Menstro.  You can see the shape is very similar, but the Menstro stem is longer, Menstro has branding on it, and it doesn’t have the lines along the rim that Blossom or the AliExpress cup has.

In their video, they claim the Diamond Cup is made in the USA, however there is no FDA listing for “Diamond Cup”, and there is a listing for an Alibaba Chinese cup manufacturer who shows the Diamond Cup box in their listing.

Other Details: Available in colors.  They were running a giveaway where they were selling the cup for $1 each to people (US only) in return for an “honest review” on Amazon.  Originally these cups had a smooth stem, but now they appear to have grip lines on the stem.

The shape/design of the cup looks very similar to cups being sold as the Aneer, Cup’ax and Dutchess cups.  See Similar/rebranded cups.  Promotional images looks very similar to these cups being sold in bulk.

Their website claims the cup is FDA approved (which is false).

blossomcupFDA blossomcupFDA2

Their Amazon listing used to say the cup was made from Food-Grade silicone, but has been changed to say medical grade:

blossom-food2

A Chinese cup manufacturer shows an image of the Blossom Cup pouch and instruction booklet on one of their listings, making it appear that this company is the supplier for the Blossom Cup.

Image from a listing by a silicone company in China (http://zdkjsy.en.alibaba.com) shows what appears to be the Dutchess boxes in their listing for wholesale menstrual cups

(I’ve pasted in the Smart cup and Dutchess Cup boxes to the image, to show they appear to be the same boxes).

I thought the Dutchess cup said on  its website that it was made in the US, but when I went to check the website to see, I got this notification.  After a few months I tried the site again and it now loads a new website with the domain https://pelvichealthshop.com

laluna_mahinasite  mahina_womb

La Luna site – directing to the Mahina site  &  the Mahina site with a (hopefully accidental) line saying the cup is worn in the womb

(also, it’s a small quibble, but a 10 year lifespan of a cup I wouldn’t consider a “lifetime of freedom” – I’d personally want to hope my lifetime is looooong past that :P)

Unique Design?: Yes (This cup design appears to have been created by this brand and has not been seen used by other brands)
My Review: https://menstrualcups.wordpress.com/2015/02/13/femmycycle-review
Other Details: This cup is shaped more like a wine goblet, and has a “lid” type feature. While inserted it works like a funnel, so the blood can flow through the smaller hole into the cup, which helps stop the blood leaking out of the cup while the wearer is lying down.  This “lid” part is pulled up to allow the cup to be emptied.

See the statement Femmycycle made about some users experiencing pain from the suction of the Femmycycle.
